It started outside a stadium in Guadalajara. Korean fans couldn’t bring tequila inside. Mexican fans said: drink it out here with us. What followed became one of the most viral moments of the entire 2026 tournament — two fan bases, one bottle of tequila, and a friendship nobody saw coming.

What Happened in Guadalajara
Group A brought Mexico and South Korea together — and the real show happened on the streets, not the pitch.
Videos flooded social media showing Mexican fans pulling Korean supporters into their celebrations, sharing tequila, teaching them the chants. Korean fans danced Gangnam Style in El Tri jerseys. Someone got tossed in the air. The chant started — coreano hermano, ya eres mexicano — and it hasn’t stopped since.
It was spontaneous. It was joyful. It was Mexico being exactly who we are.
